FAQ's

What will happen during my consultation?

During your consultation your therapist will go through a list of questions about your current health, lifestyle, medical history and discuss any goals you have for the treatment. This will take around 15 minutes. Your therapist will then do an observational assessment of your posture and if appropriate, some range of movement and strength tests on key joints and muscle groups. These assessments will allow your therapist to devise an appropriate treatment plan.

Loose comfortable clothing which is easy to remove. During your treatment you will be completely covered by towels, with the exception of the area being treated (for example left leg or back). If at any point you do not feel comfortable with any stage of the treatment you must tell your therapist.

What should I do if I feel unwell during the treatment or am in pain?

Your therapist will constantly check-in with you to make sure you are comfortable, assess any pain you may have and check that the pressure of any techniques is acceptable. How will I feel after my treatment and what should I do when I get home?

The goal of each treatment will be different but it is extremely important that you focus on hydration for the 24 hours after your treatment. This means upping your water intake by 100% (or a minimum of 8 glasses per day). You may feel thirsty, tired, achy, perhaps have a headache or notice a change in your urine or bowel movements for the 24-48 hours after your treatment. These reactions are perfectly normal and your bodies response to the circulation boosting effects of the treatment. If you are concerned about any other effects of your massage or if your side effects persist for longer than 48 hours then contact your GP.

Can you treat me in my home?

Yes, subject to availability and location, treatments can be offered in your own home. I currently serve the following postcodes during term time; SW14, SW15, SW18, SW19, SW20, KT2, KT3, KT4, SM4 and TW10. I will need somewhere to park close by and I will also need a clear space of around 5m x 3m to set up and be able to move around the treatment bench.
